For an update on Puon, it seems much less bloated lately. I nitrates are under 5ppm at the moment and conditions are ideal (aside from GH which reads a little too low). I'm not sure if there is any major correlation but this has me curious. Perhaps the fish has some kind of sensitivity to nitrates (even if they only read 15-20) and Redox. I am curious if different levels of nitrates and so-so v.s great Redox have an effect on Puon than other ordinary goldfish. I will keep you posted on this though I will likely keep the nitrates very low because I can (not typically easy) and for benefits in general for the fish. Keeping low nitrates is not supposed to be easy in a 10 gallon tank with 2 goldfish! Renee

Puon has taken a HUGE turn for the better. Sometimes the fish gets a little bloated, but it actually looks very normal. At times I cannot even tell it has bloating issues and the fish's body is smooth (aka only tiny or nonexistent lumps). Problems with the fish getting stuck at the bottom due to the bloating have also completely gone away. Puon has always increased its begging (always a good sign) although it was begging for food plenty before. I think the fish is feeling a bit better and of course the tank being on the dresser next to my bed means the fish is begging whenever I stir when I am sleeping. So very good news. Renee

I am very glad to hear that! I think some of my goldfish may have been unknowingly blessed with immortality and the ability to survive all kinds of defects. LOL
