Good afternoon all!! just to update you all...I am going back to calgary to drive the camper trailer back to vancouver. at that time i am picking up my 29 oceonic bio-cube. it has 30 pounds of very very live rock. it is a 13 hour drive so i will lose alot of life in the rock...but most will survive. i am shipping the rock in a dry cooler with a wet towel over top unless someone has a better idea.
As well...i picked up a large piece of pond liner. in the near future we are building a small deep pond. thinking 3 feet across by around 2 feet deep. we have alot of wild water plants growing in the ditch in front of the house that will make a nice addition and offer a lil protection from predators. just need to buy a pump from carl and find flat rock and i`m ready to go. this is a blank slate so any suggestions will be considered.

I think your shipping idea is fine IMO. Live Rock is shipped from overseas wrapped in newspaper and is in the box for days before opening. Admittedly much of the "Live" rock is dead upon arrival, but your 13 hour drive should not be too destructive to the life forms deep in the rock. For the Pond, here is a picture suggestion from: Pond Care Information; FiltrationCarl

Sounds like it will be a nice setup. Good luck with the live rock Bill!
