I have a Bristlnose catfish pair. Originally i bought one (male) and then i thought id get him/her a friend. Within 1 year they have breed what feels like constantly. Who knew id get a pair, considering i payed $5 each at 4cm. Aussie dollars. Anyway i was wondering since most of my fry die with my lovely Angels awaiting outside their little log, are they worth investing a tank speically for them? Like, are these cats hard or easy to breed. In otherwords would i get much for them? Or should i just keep letting them being eaten aside from the odd one or two. I know albino ones are harder to obtain but i see these guys here everywhere. The Lps here pays $2 for 4-5cm ones but online i 'may' get more. Anyway would it be a fish worth pursuing in my hobby or not?? Hope that made sense and have a lovely day! Thanks for reading =) Angel

sounds to me you're a lucky girl to have such a prolific pair - I'd isloate them from the others dish for a while and give it a try - sounds like gun - I love plecos!

I think you are doing very well to have a breeding pair. My personal opinion is to give it a try by separating this pair in their own tank (or even a sectioning of your tank). Try and look at this as an experiment or for fun and leave the aspect of making money out and I think you will find this a more enjoyable endeavor. Carl

Frankly, any fish that I could get the LFS's to pay me for I would isolate and breed. Around here it is almost impossible to get them to pay you for anything you breed yourself. It's almost like they want to discourage you from doing it. Do they have Craig's list in Australia? You might want to think about advertising them there as well.
