I was really surprised today when I saw a one newly born guppy fry in my female guppy tank. The males have been removed about 5 months so it is amazing they are still producing. On another note, I added some young females to the tank about a month ago and one before that so they may have been pregnant in the fry tanks. So it may have been from them and not my older females. Either way, it was fun to see.

hey i just wanna share this,i observed in my guppies that if all guppies are in a tank, adult guppies won't eat the fry.but if there are other fish on the tank, somehow that bond breaks and guppies themselves will eat their fry.

Thanks. Though in my all female guppy tank, I haven't observed my guppies not eating the fry. They go after them every chance they get which is why I have to remove them immedietley if I want them to live (though I have fake plants for them to hide in. Thanks for the info though. Maybe that'll happen someday.

tell that to some of my platys! that's why I use the birthing boxes - some will, some won't - some fry even manage to get out of the bottom of the V groove and some mamas, one white mm in particular at over 30!
