These are so nice looking. They look so healthy and vibrant. Can we get a shot of the whole tank?

I think the pictures are very good. They are definitely not fuzzy. I like your labs. They have very vibrant coloration. Thanks for sharing.

thanks everyone - tank 2 has the solo male - as for tank 1 it's a crap shoot - I believe both of them to be males but who knows? don't really care as long as everyone is happy - if in fact it is a kenyi which I believe it is, it's a female because the males if that species are yellow.....everything is in harmony - if all hell breaks loose, I have Plan B covered - just wanted to share

I've been working more direct hands on, in spotting hybridizations aspects murdock, and even the trained eyes tend to miss things from time to time. 3 years into keeping my Flavus, all the pictures I posted, when one aspect about the body bottom to top ratio, overall width, it really doesn't match well with what you look at in wild caught images. Vin and I had an hour long discussion trying to rule out every aspect and make as close to 100% sure something like this would be accurate in conclusion, in the end, just as I was showing with the Rock Kribs and Fulu Pics, when you look at wild images vs. mine, there really is a significant difference. This in my case supports a factual basis there would be some hybrid in my fish. In the end, what I can do is show you what pictures we compared, we even found what we think the fish are crossed with.
That's why when I was bringing up the bar thing, I'm not talking about my posterior. Sure there are some slight variations in bar counts, but not a drastic difference, PLUS how many people on here even compare wild caught images to tank bought stock to really know what they are saying? I'm finding more and more, if a person compares wild caught images it's more helpful to know if what you have is what you have or not.
In my particular case, I'm not buying anymore at all from these chain stores, not even on aquabid. I'm buying either from Dave's or Atlantis, so that when I get a species, I know for a fact, that there is no doubt what so ever, that what I get IS what I get. After finding two hybrids in my tank that never really found out until after all this time, I'm taking no more chances. In my case I'm very grateful that this got pointed out to me before I really got into distributing fry and got a bad knock for sending out hybrids. I'm very fortunate as well, out of all the species I ended up with, that I only ended up with 2 hybrids as well. From here on in, after I weed out my stock towards a Vic tank, whatever I buy will be proven F0's or F1's from a solid seller.
That doesn't relate to your goals murdock, but I just wanted to assure you, if I post something to help or advise or suggest, I'm not talking out my butt. You're not into breeding, but if you do have a hybrid in the tank, it is well worth your time to know it and investigate it. All I am saying is that fish sold to you as a Lombardoi looks off a bit. If I said nothing, I would be letting you down as a fellow African keeper and breeder.

why thank you for the compliment Bill! however, not like I enjoy disagreeing w/ you, but there are others who are far more superior in picture taking than I am and it is not my camera and I have no idea what all the buttonns and settings mean - al I know is I don't know how to disable the flash which is a nanosecond delay but enough to scate the living daylights out of them! for every one pic I post, I deep six at least 5 or 6, nut it is fun and sharing is learning - I am very proud of my male lab - he is just awesome IMO and I have Jon to thank for that!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to find out the species line is one of the ones I had that wasn't tainted. I would feel really bad if I passed you on some screwed up fish. I won't be buying off e-Bay anymore. Some day down the road, after I complete me quest and get things right, if you have more tanks (you never know) I'm thinking I'll have a great line of fish available for passing out. Main group goal will be Vics with a handful of Mbuna, Peacocks and Haps. At least if that day comes with more tanks for you, I'll have something you can populate them with.

Wow, your pictures have really come along Jon (murdock), I love the close up of the Yellow Lab (Electric Yellow) in the first picture ;D
All the rest of them are great too.
Not to be disagreable, I still have questions to the female Kenyi, that this is what she is, as well since I can not find another picture to match better, I am at a loss to state another possible species. But either way she looks great!
