there doing great. checked them 3 times today for ich. not even a single speckle on the tails or anything. i got lucky. i know now not to dump water in tho! lol. they are more interesting then i remember last time i had them a few years back. or maybe im paying more attention to there behavior this time around. they like to go in circles soo that each one of them are making different colors show. and there schooling together alot tighter then they did in the past.

items in 1, 2, 10, 14 and 15 work perfectly they all have holes where your fish can hide in, and are not too small or to big

im going to for sure get the 3 headed lady and the big single headed lady. i still need a 3rd cave for the third fish. but im sure with those 2 as references i can find something similar at a different pet store. or get 2 of one of them or something along that lines.

just one more note - remember to select decor where the smaller females can go that the males can't get into - if all the holes open up into one big space it kind of defeats the issue

My two cents on the pictures of things to purchase is to avoid the Tetra Cichlid foods, not the best as they use lower quality ingredients such as plain fish meal vs. whole fish meal. Basically although Tetra is popular, they are a low end food (years back at a trade show a rep. for Sera Foods of Germany shared with me how many in the industry there find it interesting how so many Americans think Tetra is great while in its home country aquatic industry it is looked on for what it is; the cheapy brand) Please see this article for more: Fish NutritionCarl

thanks carl ill go with the cichlid gold then!
Its hard to find decor that is only got small holes and nothing else.
also i found yellow labs and acei in same tank and neither of them seemed to mind eachother so i think im definately going to do 2 labs and an acei.

The big single headed lady is actually a Buddha's head, so man not lady. I'm completely sure about the double head, I think that may be Shiva. Are these from Petco? I would do some more research on the labs and the acei. Just because something is ok temporarily in a LFS holding tank does not necessarily mean that they will coexist well in a home tank longterm.

the decor was from petco. and the lab and acei were in a petsmart fish tank. ive done quite a bit of research on these 2 fish. they seem to be compatable both a mellower cichlid as far as aggression goes the lab is more territorial aggresive and the acei really doesnt have any territory and is just a mellow herbavore that is happy swimming around the top portion of the tank and the lab enjoys hiding spots on the bottom of the tank. i really dont see the two of these species colliding and if they happen to i dont really see too much of a danger the acei will swim to the top and leave the labs territory and that will be about all.
anyone please correct me if im wrong?

ive also purchased more for my 28 tank its completely done now and im not sure if it will work but i like the look of it and im not going to take anything back. if it does not work for cichlids than it doesnt work for cichlids. but i will post some pictures up a little bit later and you guyz can give us your opinions. i think it looks amazing but it should work for a 1 species tank if i do stick with the cichlid idea. if i can get 3 labs it should work alright but no other cichlid species.
