hey everyone. sorry about the absence weve been very busy lately specially since weather has been warmer been out and about and looking for things to do and places to work.
our babies are getting big count is still at 11 and there starting to show some color.
been able to sex a few of them but im waiting a bit longer before i start pulling the females out.
3 weeks and theyve already doubled in size some even trippled.
when should i try feeding them larger flakes instead of powder? i was thinking maybe halfway crushing a few instead of full out powdering them. but i think im going to stick with the powder atleast till i think i can get all the females out. then enter the males into the community tank and sell or give away the females.

Sounds like your guppies are doing well. Good job.
Flake food will be fine if you can crush it into small enough pieces. Just make sure it's not too big that they'll have trouble fitting in their mouths. It shouldn't be too hard to do.

the count has dropped to 8. im not sure what has happend to the other 3 but they are definately not in the tank anymore. also there is 1 i think its a male and its soo much smaller then the rest of them im not exactly sure if he is sposed to be small or if he might be the runt of the group. but he is worrying me since 3 of them are missing and hes the smallest one left. i think they may have died and deteriorated before we even noticed they were missing. but the other 7 are doing really great im sure there all females which kind of bums me out cuz we had a few people saying they wanted males for there children to have a pet. but i might be able to talk them into taking females instead.
also im going to have to post another post in a seperate section about algae.

You could have some late developing guppies. Unless there is another factor at play, you should get abou 50/50. You might have some males maturing ahead of the rest. But not too much to worry about with that, if the others are males, they should show up soon.
For the fish disappearing, check your tank to make sure they are not decaying at the bottom or something like that. I have also had things like this happen but normally when several disappeared in a short period of time, I would find a body or two.
I'm not sure if there is anything wrong with yoru male or not. He may just be small or he may be a weaker fish. Is he acting healthy? If he is, I wouldn't worry too much, he may just be smaller and need to do a bit of catching up. Still, keep an eye on him.

Mother nature is very mysterious. like i said earlier i had 3 babies missing. but guess what happend today. we have 10 more babies from a new batch. so i guess losing 3 and gaining 10 isnt that bad of a deal.
im going to get rid of them when the next batch hits cuz im running out of room in the baby tank.
thaught id keep you all updated!
