Has anyone ever kept tiger lotus?

I love any kind of lotus blossom and if I ever get to have a pond one day I will add these so I can see real lotus blossoms all the time. I think they would be pretty in an aquarium but they do grow really fast and then if you have a lid on the aquarium you would have to prune off the floating leaves that form the blossoms. I think it would break my heart to keep it from blooming so I would rather just have it in a pond so I could let it bloom.

For anyone who has never seen these:

Bravery is not the ability to face dangerous or difficult situations without fear; for that is mere foolishness and therefore no great accomplishment. Bravery is the ability to feel fear and yet carry out the right and necessary thing that one is called upon to do.

I have only kept true Lotus plants in ponds, as these get much to large for an aquarium. The lotus is not actually related to the water lily, despite similarities. I believe the Tiger Lotus is a actually a lily.

I can say as for true Lotus plants is that they are spectacular and beautiful, and are extremely important to many of my Chinese customers being sacred in Buddhist's beliefs (as you probably know more of than I).
True Lotus only will survive in warm climates, even in So. California I had to bring the tubers inside to prevent rotting in fall.
